KidsCom.com Shopping is an easy way to earn an upgraded membership for your child for free.
- When you shop through the KidsCom.com Shopping, we earn a commission on the purchases you make—and we share it with you.
- When we get paid, we credit your account with KidsKash Points ($1 in commission is worth 100 KKPs).
- Those KidsKash Points can then be spent by you/your child to upgrade their account to a paid membership (normally $5.95 per month)

- How much do I have to spend to earn 595 KKPs?
The amount you earn will depend on where you shop. Each retailer offers a different reward - most offer a percentage of your purchase, but some offer a set amount based on what you buy.
Here are some examples:
- Purchase the Costume of the Week from BuyCostumes.com and get 25% back in KKPs—so you would need to spend $23.80 to earn 595 KKPs.
- Purchase at Chico's or Delia's and get 4% back in KKPs—so you would need to spend $148.75 to earn 595 KKPs.
- Purchase at Orbitz and get points back for car rental (400 KKPs) and airfare (500 KKPs) so you could book one trip to earn over 595 KKPs.

- Do I have to earn KKPs each month?
Yes, to maintain an Idea Seeker membership, you need to have 595 KKPs in the account on your renewal date. If you shop online a lot in one month, the points you earn will be kept in the account and can be used to continue to renew the account.
If you do not have enough points to renew, you can pay for the membership directly using a credit card, check/money order or PayPal. For more information, please visit the Upgrade to a Paid Membership page.

- What happens if I don't have enough points to renew the account?
If you do not have 595 KKPs, your child can still play on KidsCom.com using the account but they will be playing as a free member (Ally of the Idea Seekers) and will not have access to all of the activities they were playing as an Idea Seeker. As soon as you have 595 KKPs in your account, the membership will be upgraded again. Your child will not lose any of the inventory they have purchased as an Idea Seeker when they play as an Ally of the Idea Seekers, but they will not have full access to it.

- What else can we do with the KKPs beyond upgrading my child's membership?
The KKPs can be exchanged for Virtual Points which can be used to buy Virtual Items. Virtual Items include food and power items to care for the Plant Babies (virtual pets), clothes and furniture. To exchange KKPs for VPs, please visit the Bank. Important—you can trade in your KidsKash Points for Virtual Points but not the other way around.

- Do I have to do anything to upgrade my account?
No, once you earn 595 KKPs in your account, we will automatically upgrade the account to an Idea Seeker membership. We will send you an e-mail when that happens to let you know.

- What is the paid membership/Idea Seeker membership?
The paid membership is an enhanced experience on our site that we call an Idea Seeker membership.
Paid members get more:
Learning
- Develop leadership and social skills by leading teams
- Learn to save money at home by designing their energy efficient virtual house
- Learn money management and entrepreneurship by running their virtual store
- Practice math, reading, and writing skills by playing games
- Learn generosity by donating to non-profit causes
- Save animals by learning actions that promote environmental responsibility
Fun creativity
- Design a safe, monitored Home Page with no personally identifiable information so they stay safe on the Internet
- Change clothes on their character to create fun costumes, disguises or fashion statements
- Develop decorating skills by designing more rooms in their virtual house to be fun spaces to show off and hang out with friends

- Is there another way to get a paid membership?

- Can I get my KKPs paid out to me?
No, at this time KKPs can only be used to upgrade to an Idea Seeker membership or to trade for Virtual Points for more fun play. But stay tuned for more opportunities in the future.

- Do I need to be registered to shop?
No, you do not need to register. You will need to know a child's registered KidsCom.com account (username and birthdate) to shop. This is so we know which account to credit with the KKPs you earn. Children can sign up for accounts for free.

- When does the account get credited with the KKPs?
Accounts will be credited each month. We get reports from the retailers once a month and we will update your account as soon as we have the information. In your child's account they will see their KidsKash Points balance in their top navigation.

- I don't have enough points yet, how can my child get a membership faster?

- How do I know what username and birthdate to use?
The KKPs will be credited to your child's account. Please use their username and birthdate to log in. That way we know who to credit with the KKP rewards.

- What if I have more than one child?
You can log in using only one child account each time you shop. If you have more than one child, you may want to track your purchases to balance the KKPs you are earning in each account. You can also see how many KKPs they have in their account.

- Can anyone shop to earn points for our account?
Anyone who has the username and birthdate can log in and shop to earn points for an account. We encourage you to share the username and birthdate with family members to help earn your child more smart, safe fun.

- Is the program only for US users?
Yes, at this time the program is only available for US users. The agreements we have with the retailers are for US users only. We will be adding UK and other countries in the future. In the meantime, you can upgrade to a paid membership using a credit card, check/money order or PayPal account.

- How do I know how many points are in the account?
The amount of KKPs in the account is displayed while the child is playing. To see the amount, you can log in and visit this page: http://www.my.kidscom.com/jsp_a01_mkc/jsp_a01_b01_pb/planets.jsp. The total will be displayed on the top right side of the page, under the Log Out button.
